Landscape wire carries low-voltage power from an outdoor lighting transformer to pathway lights, spotlights, garden fixtures, and other compatible low-voltage loads. Select the cable by conductor gauge, one-way run length, total fixture load, transformer voltage, installation environment, and the voltage available at the farthest fixture.
Use outdoor-rated low-voltage cable for landscape lighting circuits around paths, gardens, decks, walls, and architectural features. Do not use it as a substitute for mains-voltage building wire or in an installation not permitted by its jacket markings and local electrical code.

Current assortment: This collection currently offers 16/2 cable in 200, 250, and 500 ft lengths. If the voltage-drop calculation requires a heavier gauge, do not substitute 16/2; select a properly rated cable when that gauge is available.
Gauge depends on both distance and load. Longer runs and higher total fixture loads generally require a lower AWG number, but use the transformer voltage, total current, conductor resistance, and acceptable voltage drop to confirm the final size.
Use the conductor resistance from the product specification and calculate approximate voltage drop as 2 × one-way run length × current × resistance per unit length. Divide that result by system voltage and multiply by 100 for the percentage drop. Check voltage at the farthest fixture before final installation.
Use it outdoors only when the product jacket and listing identify the cable for the intended exposure, such as sunlight, moisture, or direct burial. The current 16/2 product is positioned for outdoor landscape lighting; always follow its markings, connector instructions, and local code.
