Ring Terminal Kits

Shop Haisstronica ring terminal kit options for dependable battery, ground, bus bar, fuse block, trailer, marine, automotive, and workshop connections. Choose by wire gauge (AWG), stud or screw size, insulation type, and environment. Tinned copper lugs help resist corrosion, while heat-shrink ring terminals add sealing where moisture and vibration are concerns. Use the filters below to compare mixed assortments, heavy-duty battery cable lugs, and individual terminal sizes, then pair the connector with a compatible crimping tool for a secure, low-resistance connection.

The right ring terminal depends on four details: conductor size, stud diameter, terminal material, and the conditions around the connection. Use this guide to narrow the products above before you crimp.

Applications

Ring terminal kits are ideal for batteries, grounding points, bus bars, fuse blocks, automotive wiring, trailers, boats, solar systems, and workshop repairs. Choose sealed heat-shrink terminals where moisture, salt, dust, or vibration may be present. Avoid using a terminal if its AWG range or ring opening does not match the wire and stud, or when the connection must be disconnected frequently.

How to Choose

  1. Match the terminal AWG range to the stripped conductor—not the cable jacket.
  2. Match the ring hole to the stud or screw, such as #8, #10, 1/4 in, 5/16 in, or 3/8 in.
  3. Choose tinned copper for corrosion resistance and heat-shrink insulation for exposed or wet locations.
  4. Choose a mixed kit for varied repairs; buy one size when repeating the same connection.

How to Use

  1. Disconnect power and strip the wire to the barrel length without nicking the conductor.
  2. Insert the conductor fully and crimp with the die matched to the terminal type and AWG.
  3. Perform a firm pull test. For heat-shrink terminals, heat evenly until the tubing seals.
  4. Fasten the ring to a clean stud or ground point and tighten to the equipment specification.

Ring Terminal Kit FAQ

Measure the stud or screw shank, then choose a ring opening that fits over it with minimal play. Common sizes include #8, #10, 1/4 in, 5/16 in, and 3/8 in. The ring should sit flat beneath the nut or washer. Do not enlarge the hole, because that can weaken the terminal and reduce contact area.

Match the terminal’s AWG range to the bare conductor size, not the outside diameter of the cable jacket. The stripped wire should fill the barrel without forcing, folding, or leaving loose strands. Check the product size chart and use a crimping die marked for the same AWG range. If the wire slides out after a pull test, choose the correct smaller barrel or recrimp with the proper die.

Choose heat-shrink ring terminals for connections exposed to moisture, road spray, salt, dust, vibration, or outdoor temperature changes, including marine, trailer, vehicle, and battery wiring. After crimping, heat the tubing evenly until it conforms around the wire and the seal is complete. For dry, protected panels, non-insulated terminals may be suitable when separate insulation is added.
