I remodel houses and have tried 3 different pairs of specialty pliers. These are by far the best quality. Well built and great at cutting 12/2. I don’t really use the voltage detector but it def works too. The only thing I noticed that could be better is the blade that splits the 12 Romex coat. It fell out unfortunately it’s super useful too. If you buy these make sure that set screw is tight. It comes with a spare and the wrench to change it.

Loved it and easy to use for a first timer!!

I thought with all these features packed in, it must not work well at any. But I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Working as it, without any features, the pliers worked great. They are high quality, the strippers worked perfect and the jaws clamped nicely. Then I tried some of the add ons. The cutter cut through 12 ga Romex very easily. And I ran that through the splitter, what do you know it worked!! So then I had to try the winder, again was pleased with the results. It wound the wires in a nice package. I wasn't up to sticking it into a socket but did test the live wire detector. It worked exactly as shown. With my thumb on the metal part in the handle, it detected that my extension cord was live. Very impressed with how all the extras performed. Glad to have it.

Not sure if a professional electrician would find it sufficient, but for me it is the perfect tool to have available. My only complaint is the instruction booklet could be clearer but once you figure out each function its pretty intuitive. I am a chick and my tool box is pretty chick friendly. I have a few classic tools, way too many hammers. I normally pick up tools as I need them, but these looked like they would suit a few of my tool needs. They have a tester, a winder, cutting surfaces, clamping tool, stripping, cutting and many more functions. The tool itself is heavy and seems well made (it really sucks when a tool breaks). These are not too big for my small hands, which is also nice. I have other tools that are so big they are hard to handle. I was in the military for a long time and after all those moves I am finally in retirement and now is the time for me to start going through things that got stored and I hung onto but no longer need; I have a large box filled with connectors and cables. Not all of the things in the box work and this tool is going to help me sort through that box. My intention is to strip out the copper and other metals and remove the coating on the wires. With this I can test the cables and connectors to see if they work and if they don't the stripper function comes into play. Once this is done the metals can be recycled and the plastic coating can be tossed. This is a job I look forward to doing on a boring night while I watch Andromeda or Babylon 5 (or some other show). I honestly cannot get over the versatility of these pliers. They are really quite nice. These will help me complete my tool box in that they cover many functions. I am going to get a lot of use out of these. Do be aware that there are sharp cutting edges and children should be supervised when handling these.
