❓How do I choose the right heat shrink tube size?

Choose a supplied diameter that clears the largest part of the connection, then confirm the approximate recovered diameter will grip the smallest cable section.

❓What does a 3:1 shrink ratio mean?

The tubing can recover to approximately one-third of its supplied diameter when heated correctly, allowing it to pass over a splice and tighten around the cable.

❓What temperature should I use?

The product specification lists a 257°F (125°C) shrink temperature. Apply controlled heat evenly, keep the heat source moving and stop after full recovery and sealing.

❓How to Choose

  1. Measure the widest connector, splice or terminal the tubing must pass over.
  2. Select a supplied diameter larger than that widest point.
  3. Check that the approximate recovered diameter is smaller than the cable section to be sealed.
  4. Choose the 45mm or 60mm length that covers the repair with adequate overlap on both sides.

❓How to Use

  1. Disconnect power and slide the selected tube onto the wire before completing the joint.
  2. Center the tubing over the finished connection.
  3. Apply controlled heat evenly from the center outward while keeping the heat source moving.
  4. Stop when the tubing has fully recovered and the adhesive forms an even seal; allow it to cool before handling or energizing.

Do not use an open flame or continue heating after full recovery.
