❓What does the 3:1 shrink ratio mean?

The tubing can recover to about one-third of its supplied diameter when heated correctly. This 7.9mm size has a specified fully recovered inner diameter of no more than 2.7mm.

❓How do I choose the correct tubing diameter?

The expanded size must clear the largest component, while the recovered size must seal tightly around the smallest section. Do not choose by wire gauge alone.

❓Can I shrink the tubing with an open flame?

Use a controlled heat gun. An open flame can scorch the sleeve, damage nearby insulation, and create an uneven adhesive seal.

❓How to Choose

Measure the largest diameter the tubing must slide over and the smallest diameter it must seal after heating. Confirm the supplied inner diameter of at least 7.9mm clears the connection and the recovered inner diameter of no more than 2.7mm will seal the finished joint. Select color by the project identification standard rather than by wire gauge alone.

❓How to Use

  1. Disconnect power, cut the required tubing length, and slide it over the cable before completing the connection.
  2. Center the tubing over the finished joint with sufficient overlap on both sides.
  3. Apply controlled heat evenly from the center outward while keeping the heat source moving.
  4. Stop heating after the tubing has fully recovered and the adhesive has formed an even seal.
  5. Allow the joint to cool before bending, pulling, testing, or restoring power.

If you need some good heat shrink tubing look no further. I have been happy with this brand now for a few years. It's a good value for the money, very durable and has a good appearance once shrunk to your wiring whether using a heat gun or a small torch. Great fit and the right length to cut as you need. Good material and very easy to use.
