❓Do solder seal connectors require crimping?

No. Correctly installed solder seal connectors use controlled heat to solder, shrink, and seal the splice.

❓How do I select the color by AWG?

Use white for AWG 26-24, red for AWG 22-18, green for AWG 18-16, blue for AWG 16-14, and yellow for AWG 12-10. Confirm the selected variant chart before installation.

❓How do I heat the solder ring without damaging the sleeve?

Use moderate airflow, keep the heat source moving, and rotate the connector until the solder flows and the adhesive rings contract. Stop heating once the joint is complete.

❓Can it be used in saltwater?

Yes. These Haisstronica connectors are marine-grade butt connectors with solder, hot-melt rings and heat shrink with solder that create a fully sealed joint. Once heated, the sealed solder connectors and built-in wire sealant protect the splice from saltwater, moisture and corrosion, making them ideal for boats, trailers and other marine wiring.

❓Does it come with a storage case?

The kit on is typically supplied in an organized plastic box, so your solderless electrical connectors and small parts stay sorted by size. Packaging can change over time, so check the current listing photos to confirm how this set of solderless connectors is packed.

❓Is this connector easy to install?

Very easy. Each soldering butt connector is pre-loaded with low-melt solder and adhesive rings. Simply overlap the stripped wires, slide on the connector, and heat evenly with a soldering iron or heat gun. As the solder sticks melt and the tubing shrinks, you get a reliable soldering connection without crimp tools or extra flux.

❓What temperature range can it handle?

The tubing and solder are designed for typical heat shrink soldering temperatures. Just heat until the inner ring flows and the tube fully contracts—well above the solder melting point but below the level where the sleeve would scorch. You don’t need to dial in an exact soldering iron temperature; use a controlled heat gun and avoid open flame for best results.

❓What do customers say?

Shoppers often highlight how quick these solder seal connectors are to use and how well the joints hold up in wet, mobile environments. Many reviews mention clean, strong solder splices and appreciate that one connector can both solder and seal in a single step. For the latest feedback, check the review section on the product page.

❓Are the connectors color-coded?

Yes. Each shrink solder connector uses colored tubing (for example, red, blue, yellow, white) plus printed AWG markings so you can instantly match the right size to your wire gauge. This color coding makes it easy to seal wire correctly and avoid mixing sizes, especially when working quickly or in low-light areas.

❓How to Choose

Match the conductor gauge to the connector color: white for AWG 26-24, red for AWG 22-18, green for AWG 18-16, blue for AWG 16-14, and yellow for AWG 12-10. Select tubing by its supplied before-shrink diameter and confirm it can recover tightly over the finished joint.

❓How to Use

  1. Disconnect power and select the connector or tubing size that matches the conductor and finished joint.
  2. For a solder seal connector, strip both wires, overlap them inside the solder ring, and center the conductors.
  3. Apply controlled heat while rotating the joint until the solder flows and the adhesive rings seal; heat separate tubing evenly until it recovers around the workpiece.
  4. Allow the joint to cool before pulling, testing, or restoring power.

Nice Set. Good Performance. A Bit Pricy.

I've used Haisstronica products in the past with good results including their heat-shrink solder connectors and crimp connectors, as well as their heat-shrink tubing and, as I needed more connectors, thought I would give this 680pc set a try. I like that the set comes organized in a functional and reusable storage case. The case plastic is hard and I have found that this type do not last as long as the polyethylene cases I tend to use for fasteners but certainly is a step or two better than the cheap, clear plastic cases products like this normally come in. The connectors and tubing are organized into little individual removable boxes which makes it handy if you are only using one or two different items. I like the heat-shrink solder connectors and prefer these over the crimp style yet I use both. I have had issues with some brands as their solder has failed to melt but I have had mostly good performance from Haisstronica. I also appreciate that they provide 3X shrink tubing as opposed to 1x as it makes initial placement of the tubing easier, allows a bit more flexibility in what fits into it, and appears to deal better. These also have an inner binding adhesive that some heat- shrink tubing does not. Overall, I like the product - including the case- very much but I do feel it is a bit pricy. I would have expected a price point more like $29-$35. I haven't used

Super useful shrink tubing and solder seal connectors.

This review is for the "haisstronica 680PCS Heat Shrink Solder Seal Connectors Set with Tubing,Waterproof Electrical Connectors and 3:1 Shrinking Tube for Marine,Automotive,Wiring Projects." I've been in situations on a boat where I didn't have a soldering gun and needed to splice wires. This kit fits that scenario without fault. All the solder tubing connector sizes makes this a great assortment kit in of itself. The shrink tubing also has sealing glue to make for a water-tight seal at a 3:1 shrink ratio. Lots of different sizes to use on a variety of wire sizes. I'm generally not a big fan of paying for a hard case when all I need is what's inside. However, the carrying case is handy and I can replace whatever I use up. The carrying case has other uses too, so the entire assortment kit imo is worthy of purchase in spite of the slightly elevated asking price at the time of this review.

A nice kit of heat shrink connectors plus some heat shrink tubing that you may or may not need.

Heat shrink butt connectors are a handy way to join wires where a connector is not needed. This kind of operation occurs often when connecting a pigtail connector for a device into a wiring harness. Traditional, this is done use crimp connectors. These can provide a solid physical connection, but are dependent upon the quality of the crimp and do not always provide envronmental protection for the connection. Heat shrink solder connectors serve a similar function but have certain advantages including being a single operation and they seal the connection from moisture which can corrode the connection. These connections also have some drawbacks. Among these are the need to the need to insure that both wires do not move while making -- and cooling -- the connection. A good quality heat gun is needed to insure that the solder reaches it's melting point But provided that this qualification is met, these connectors do provide a good electrical and physical connection that is protected from the environment. Although I ordered this kit for the connectors, it does also come with a copious supply of heat shrink tubing in red and black. From my perspective, this really isn't needed as it does not provide a significant vantage over the solder connectors themselves and it seems to me that the heat shrink was added in order to pad the parts count and to fill the rest of the bin in the box with something semi-relevant. But that said, if you have need of heat shrink tubing, you may find that the addition of the heat shrink tubing to be an added bonus. The heat shrink tubing does shrink as expected if you do have the need for it, this tubing will serve well. Personally, I would have preferring a smaller case with just the solder connectors.

Easy to use in the field, and provides good protection

The solder splices in this kit are of an interesting design: they're made of clear adhesive-wall heat shrink tubing with a doughnut of low-temperature (bismuth-containing) solder in the center. You have to strip your wires back maybe 3mm, insert both wires so that the stripped ends overlap or intermingle in the center (inside the solder doughnut). Then heat the assembly with a heat gun (or even a cigarette lighter, carefully). I found that if I shrank the ends first the heat shrink would hold the wires in place better. The included adhesive-wall heat shrink tubing provides extra protection for the splices or for other uses (like insulating spade female connectors). I found that the kit helped me do pinball and arcade game repairs quickly.

If you got projects, you need this heat shrink and solder seal connector set.

This 680 piece heat shrink and solder seal connector set has a very well organized case, very good instructions, and extra solder seal connectors (see image). All the pieces are kept in place with little trays that fit in place in the carrying case (see image). The clear plastic top is perfect to see what pieces need restocking. I counted all the solder seal connectors and there were extra of each size, which is a bonus in my book. The most solder seal connectors are the small white, 24-26 AWG, which I don’t use very often. I think I would have preferred more blue, 14-16 AWG, or even the red, 18-22 AWG. I tested a solder seal connector on a solid strand copper wire and had mixed results (see video). I used my heat gun on low (without a deflector) and moved the heat gun back and forth. The heat shrink worked perfectly, but the solder ring and seals did not melt. I turned up the heat on the gun and tried again. This time the red seals and solder melted (see images). I believe a heat deflector would have worked better with low heat. Once the solder seal cooled, I tried pulling it apart. It was very strong. I also verified continuity; a good electrical connection (see image). Overall, I love this 680 piece Heat Shrink & Solder Seal connector set. I have many projects that will benefit from this kit.

High Quality Heat Shrink Solder Butt Splice and Tubing Kit

I needed some waterproof some wire joints with butt splice connectors and got this Haisstronica 680 piece kit. This kit is well packed with butt heat shrink solder connectors and heat shrink tubing to connect any wire from 10-26 awg. The connectors came in a high quality case that has 10 removable cubbies. The case was strong and the curved handle made it very easy to carry without any discomfort. These connectors are very easy to use. Simply strip about 1/3 inch from the end of both wires to be connected. Slip connector over one wire. Twist wires together to form one piece. Slide connector over twisted bare wire. Use a quality heat gun to melt the solder portion and shrink the tubing by evenly applying heat all the way around. Let the connector cool down before applying any pressure. While my heat gun was not strong enough to fully melt the solder, the resulting connection was so strong that I could not pull it apart. The heat shrink tubes have a 3:1 ratio. This is a great set for anyone needing to waterproof, insulate, dust proof and seal electrical connections in different settings including marine.

Great seal and visual validation of a good connection, tubing combinations are sufficient

While haisstronica also has crimp butt connectors, these solder ones are so great and easy to ensure there is a great connection between your wires. When you crimp and then heat shrink it does the job, but these solder ones visually show you as the heat shrink handles the wire insulation, the built-in solder in the middle ensure a seal and you can visually see it fuse along with the actual wire. You already have the heat applied so you no longer have the additional step of having to crimp. The heat shrink tubes in this set provide coverage for end terminals, making sure to both prevent exposing wire/connector where you don't want it to and providing and additional firm seal. Marine grade waterproof allows for more applications and lastly, it comes with a case to help organize all of these. Just like the connectors, the tubing provides a variety of wire combination for all your hobby and DIY needs. Once you use it all, you have an opportunity to refill or re-purpose it for other types of components.

Haisstronica offers a full line of waterproof wire connectors—our best-selling solder seal wire connectors and solder and seal wire connectors—so you can match the right piece to your job. A solder seal wire connector (also called a heat shrink solder connector, solder sleeve connector, or butt connector with solder) is used to splice two conductors and seal the joint in one step. Each piece combines a clear heat-shrink tube, a low-temperature solder ring, and dual hot-melt adhesive bands to deliver a tight, durable splice for automotive wire connectors, marine projects, and home wiring.

How it’s built and how it works: the clear EVA/polyolefin tubing lets you see soldering penetration as the alloy melts and flows; the hot-melt adhesive cools in seconds and locks out moisture; and the integrated solder sleeves create an electrically solid, long-lasting soldered connector. Slide the sleeve over stripped conductors with proper overlap, center the solder ring, then apply even heat—this is true solder and heat shrink in a single motion, no crimp required. When finished, the joint behaves like a one-piece, sealed solder connector.

For maximum strength and sealing, choose the connector by the conductor gauge—not by overall jacket thickness or extra wrap. Haisstronica prints the wire gauges directly on the tubing for quick pick-and-place selection, so you always match the right solder butt connector to the job. Clean copper strands, insert to full depth, and heat until the solder heat shrink flows and the adhesive forms continuous fillets at both ends. Selecting by true AWG and heating evenly prevents weak joints often seen with mis-sized or under-heated solder wiring connectors.

Count on Haisstronica for quality, sturdy solder connectors that secure loose ends and keep systems running. Our hot-melt system delivers the right amount of adhesive that cools, hardens, and reaches bond strength within seconds—ideal sealed connectors for field service. If you need reliable wire solder connectors that stand up to vibration, water splash, and road grime, our kits are ready. For product details and sizing help, browse our catalog of wire connectors with solder. Questions about waterproof solder wire connectors for your application? Contact us—our team is here to help.

Want deeper know-how? Read our step-by-step guides on installing heat shrink solder connectors and choosing the correct size of solder seal connector for different wire bundles. You’ll learn best practices for staggering splices, managing strain, and routing solder wire connections in tight spots—techniques that make shop or roadside repairs as fast as bench work.

There are three common splice styles in our range: 1) straight solder butt connectors for end-to-end joins; 2) ring and spade solder terminals for panel terminations; and 3) inline solder splice connectors for multi-segment repairs. Your application drives the choice. For critical or wet locations, always use crimp and seal connectors or our solder & seal sleeves that combine electrical continuity with an adhesive-lined barrier. Avoid plain solderless connectors where a watertight joint is required.

What’s inside matters. Our tubing is abrasion-resistant EVA/polyolefin for long-term reliability; the transparent body confirms full wire connector solder flow; and the adhesive bands act as a true wire sealer. Compared with simple heat-shrink alone, the integrated alloy creates a robust solder wire splice that won’t wick moisture or loosen under vibration—exactly what you want in automotive wire connectors kit repairs, boat wiring, and outdoor installs.

To achieve the designed performance, use the minimum connector count for the route and heat each piece to full activation—the solder must liquefy and the ends must seal. Space splices to avoid concentrated bending, and let the joint cool before loading. Following these steps allows the assembly to reach its intended efficiency, the same way torque is essential for mechanical hardware.

Finish options in our line address real-world conditions. Choose color-coded sizes for quick identification, or reach for assorted kits when servicing mixed harnesses. Whether you’re shopping solder stick connectors, compact quick solder connectors, or full solder wire connector kit assortments, you’ll find the right match for repair benches, trail bags, and service trucks.

Haisstronica stands behind every connector. If you’re not satisfied, reach out—our quality commitment means we’ll make it right. When your project demands best waterproof solder wire connectors that combine electrical integrity with a dependable shrinkable seal, choose Haisstronica solder seal wire connectors for results that last.

Best Use Cases for Solder Seal Wire Connectors
